Giving Tuesday
In support of the Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation

This Giving Tuesday, we are encouraging families to help make a difference right here in our own Durham Catholic learning community.

Giving Tuesday takes place around the world on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. We are encouraging students and families to donate through School Cash Online (Giving Tuesday Campaign). Through your generosity, we can help students reach their full potential by ensuring they have access to essentials such as food, clothing and shelter. Donations received will have a direct impact on the lives of our students to ensure they can participate fully in all aspects of school life, including field trips and extracurricular activities with their peers. Additionally, we reserve emergency response funds for the students and families in need.

Join us in making a difference in the lives of Durham Catholic District School Board students.

Your Impact

When you donate to the Durham Catholic Children's Foundation, you are helping students reach their full potential by ensuring they have access to everyday essentials such as food, shelter, lights and heat in their homes and much more. Join us in making a difference in the lives of Durham Catholic District School Board students.

“The sole income earner in the family had a heart attack and was unable to provide for the family due to self-employment. Through the Foundation, we were able to assist with the necessities.”
          – Principal, Pickering

“Our family has been reduced to a single income household. There are times when we don’t know how we’ll make it to the end of the week or month. Electricity and water bills have gone unpaid and are in a threatening position of being shut off. I am grateful and appreciative for your support.”
          – Parent, Oshawa

“Through the Foundation, we were able to help a family who have two children that are seeking medical support from Sick Kids. One child needs to attend Sick Kids five times per week which is costly. Our school wishes the family our prayers and some financial support through these difficult times.”
          – Principal, Whitby

About the Durham Catholic Children's Foundation

Through our signature fundraising events and donor contributions, the Foundation enables a formal mechanism for coordinating charitable initiatives and raising funds to support student participation in all aspects of school life.

With recommendations from the Durham Catholic District School Board and its communities, the Durham Catholic Children's Foundation contributes to student well-being and achievement by providing basic needs to the most vulnerable children and families in Durham Region, enabling them to work towards reaching their full potential.
