Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation Foundation Administrator - Contract Position

The Durham Catholic Children's Foundation is seeking a part-time Foundation Administrator to play a key role in supporting the work of the Foundation's Board of Directors and advancing initiatives that benefit students and families in need. Working closely with board members, volunteers, donors, and community partners, the successful candidate will help strengthen the Foundation's presence, engagement, and impact throughout Durham Region.

Responsibilities

Administration:

  • Provide all necessary administrative support including monitoring and responding to general inquiries from the Foundation board members, volunteers and the general public;
  • Attend Board meetings and provide written and verbal updates on Foundation activities;
  • Work with the Chair, President, and any other designated member of the Foundation to schedule and organize meetings of the Foundation Board of Directors, develop and distribute agendas and assist in the preparation of presentation materials; and
  • Assist in the preparation of reports including the Foundation Annual Report.

Communications:

  • Manage electronic communications (e.g. websites, Teams, SharePoint sites, social media).

Fundraising and events:

  • Maintain a donor/sponsor database;
  • Coordinate reach-out efforts to past and present donors; and
  • Be available to assist and participate in local meetings, activities, events, etc. within the Durham region.

Other:

  • Perform other related assignments as required and deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • A passion for supporting the mission and vision of the Foundation;
  • Competency in working with technology and social media;
  • Self-motivated, self-directed with the ability to work independently;
  • Experience with event coordination, volunteer management and project management is preferred;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; and
  • Police background check suitable to the Foundation Board of Directors.

Terms of the Contract

  • $25/hour for a total of 800 hours – $20,000 per year;
  • Technology required to carry out the duties of the position;
  • Reimbursement of direct expenses as approved by the Foundation Executive;
  • Two-year pilot with a possibility of extension and enhanced scope of duties.

What can the successful candidate expect from the Foundation?

  • Volunteer time from members of the Board of Directors and Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) staff;
  • Support from DCDSB Communications, ICT, and Finance departments; and
  • Operational direction/support from the Foundation Treasurer and DCDSB Chief Financial Officer.
